Bottom Line:
When other antivirus
products fail, tech support agents turn to Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
2.0. It remains a very effective cleanup tool, and with version 2.0 it
gets significant improvements in appearance and ease of use.
Bottom Line:
SecureIT Plus offers
powerful protection to keep malware out of a clean system, but can't
handle existing infestations. Its parental control system has some
strong features, along with some weaknesses. And oddly, it's more
expensive than the competition.
Bottom Line:
This antivirus integrates
two different engines for double detection. That also means double the
time to update and scan, but it's worth the wait. While it won't knock
Webroot out of the Editors' Choice position, its capabilities are on par
with the rest of the top products.
Bottom Line:
This product's two antivirus
engines double its detecting power, but it doesn't clean up as well as
it detects. It's as big and slow as using two separate products would
be. On the plus side, the two engines don't conflict, and you only have
to pay for one product.
Bottom Line:
Spyware Doctor with
AntiVirus 2010 adds numerous new "guards" against malware and promises
enhanced malware detection and cleanup—and delivers. This product, our
new Editors' Choice, broke records in my malware-removal and
malware-blocking tests.
